In 1933 journeyed through Assam and Eastern Tibet with Kingdon Ward; returned to Tibet 1935, accompanied by John Hanbury-Tracy, spending eighteen months there in an attempt to discover source of Salween River; 1938 spent eighteen months in Upper Burma hunting and collecting zoological specimens for the British Museum (Natural History); Murchison Grant of Royal Geog Soc, 1937.
