The Brearley Connection
Out of respect particularly for Harry Brearley himself, I've tried to reconstruct as much as I can of his background and family, from a variety of sources. The ancestry.co.uk website was enormously helpful as always, and so too was the entertaining and informative narrative "Auntie Wyn's Briefcase" centred around Winifred Beard, Brearley's secretary at Brown Bayley's steelworks when he retired from active management to focus on research.
