Alan Paul Good (1906-1953), entrepreneur, solicitor, chairman of Brush Electrical Engineering Co, and of Lagonda
1935 Acquired Lagonda from the receivers.
1937 Acquired a controlling interest in Petters Ltd; became a director of Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day
Brush Electrical Engineering asked for his help in their restructuring, as a result of which Petters transferred their oil engine business to Loughborough.
1939 Deputy chairman of Brush
1941 Became chairman of the managing committee of Brush; subsequently became Managing Director.
1944 Acquired control of J and H McLaren
1945 Gained control of Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day
1945 Chairman of Tarran Industries 1
1948 Took a financial interest in National Gas and Oil Engine Co, joining the board in 1949.
As a result he built up the Brush Aboe Group, which enabled him to achieve his vision of specialisation of the various factories in diesel engine production. He was deputy chairman of Brush Aboe and also managing director of the parent company, Brush Electrical Engineering.
Also chairman of Associated British Engineering and also of Heenan and Froude.
1950 Taken ill.
1952 Resigned many of his positions of responsibility.
1953 Died in South Africa.
