The Crown Prince of Siam
During the time that my father was chaplain at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, between 1894 and 1901, the Crown Prince of Siam [Thailand], who was then an Officer Cadet, came often to our house to visit my parents. I think that he may have had a tender feeling or two for me at that time, when I was seventeen, and he gave me a fine picture of himself in cadet's uniform on which he had written "From your friend". I cannot remember his name and it is a pity that the picture has now been lost in one or other of the family disasters, probably when my flat was bombed and destroyed in 1940.
