Jalik Arbit Kaulback

In the London Gazette of 16 Feb 1951, Fenja Kaulback officially updated her son's surname to Kaulback, his previous surname of Arbit (her previous married name) naturally becoming his second forename.

Bill and Fenja, with Canni, Jalik and Willie. Probably about 1949/50.

At this time, between 1948 and 1952, he was being educated at Kestrels, a preparatory school in East Anstey, just to the south of Exmoor, that despite its unorthodox and Spartan regime evidently inspired a great deal of affection in its pupils, at least in retrospect.
